About Us
Here at Minster we are incredibly passionate about the club we have built today. Every year has seen us go from strength to strength as we increase our numbers, improve our playing facilties and achieve success both on and off the field.
Founded in 1931, we are the largest cricket club on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. We run four Saturday League sides, one Sunday side, two midweek teams along with a full junior section of U16s, U14s, U12s and U10's. Our junior section is vitally important to us, with so many of our current playing members progressing through our youth system. See Our Junior Section for more details.
We are always on the lookout for new players of any age and ability, but there are also plenty of ways to get involved off the field too, such as umpiring, scoring, helping run the bar or make the teas, and we always welcome new members along to our club. Please see the Contact section for ways to get in touch.
We are a family friendly club that always welcomes players, spectators and families alike. Our home ground of Gilbert Hall, opposite St. George's Primary School, boasts the nicest facilities on Sheppey with great views over the island. We now also have two pitches and sets of changing facilities, as well as net facilities at our ever expanding club.
As well as having matches and training at the ground throughout the week during the summer, we also host regular off field events at the club such as Quiz Nights, Fun Days, BBQs, Kwik Cricket Tournaments and also our end of season Presentation Evening. Keep an eye out on our Key Dates & Events page and our various social media platforms for details on upcoming events.
We pride ourselves on playing firm but fair cricket. Play to win every game to the best of our ability, respect the
opposition, and share a drink with team mates and opponents alike once the bails have been removed.
We look forward to seeing you down at the fortress!
